The Role of a Gas Engineer

The gas engineer is usually responsible for any new gas connections to the site as well as annual testing on all gas appliances within guest accommodation.
Typical duties will include:
- Carrying out routine maintenance jobs on gas appliances in the guest accommodation
- Carrying out annual health and safety checks and inspections and ensuring follow up action is taken where necessary
- Procuring and managing stock levels for parts and supplies
- Maintaining and looking after all tools, equipment and vehicles needed for maintenance duties
Skills, Experience and Personality Needed:
- Good customer service skills. Gas technicians are likely to be liaising with guests if they are fixing minor problems and therefore become part of the guest’s experience
- Must have Gas Safe Training and Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS) qualifications
