Head of Events, which in smaller agencies falls under the Managing Director’s remit, is to lead the direction of the agency, strategically looking at the agency’s positioning and setting objectives for the business. 

Typical duties of the Head of Events will include: -

  • Providing leadership to the management team
  • Key client relationship building
  • Industry representation

Benefits and Considerations
  • This is a highly pressurised role that definitely doesn’t fit within 9am-5pm
  • It can be very stressful and there are lots of big personalities in the industry
  • Although it may be necessary to support with live events on the odd occasion, this is not the norm with this role and so it’s good for those who are no longer looking to travel regularly
  • There will be an expectation to represent the agency at multiple industry events
  • There is huge prestige in running a successful agency
