The Role of a Maintenance Technician
The maintenance technician will deal with day-to-day maintenance work around the site including painting and decorating, plumbing, carpentry as well as helping to site park accommodation.
Typical duties will include:
- Carrying out planned and preventative repairs as well as emergency repairs on the site’s accommodation stock and general buildings
- Carrying out minor aesthetic repairs that might impact the enjoyment from a guests stay
- Carrying out regular health and safety checks and inspections and ensuring follow up action is taken where necessary
- Maintaining and looking after all tools, equipment and vehicles needed for maintenance duties
Skills, Experience and Personality Needed:
- Good customer service skills. Maintenance technicians are likely to be liaising with guests if they are fixing minor problems and therefore become part of the guests experience
- General trade’s skills – including painting and decorating, basic plumbing, carpentry
- A full driving licence in some cases a Forklift licence may be required
- Willingness to qualify in Portable Appliance (PAT) testing
- Willingness to learn new skills
- Good team player
