What a great morning we had at the Visit Lincolnshire Tourism Conference earlier in February.  Held at The Brackenborough Lakes Resort near Louth, the conference rooms were packed with a great mixture of tourism and hospitality businesses from all over the county all keen to hear more about developments on VisitLincolnshire.com and the latest tourism trends.

Guest Speakers: Heather Greenwood, Location Lincs and Lucy Lapwing, BBC Spring Watch.

Talking to a sell-out crowd, we welcomed two headline speakers – Lucy Lapwing of BBC Spring Watch and Winter Watch; and Heather Greenwood, BAFTA nominated film producer and founder of Location Lincs.  Nature tourism and Film tourism are both key strands of activity for ongoing work, each with the potential of attracting new visitors to the county as well as enticing return trips, and so the insights Lucy and Heather shared were very encouraging and useful.

The audience also heard from Cllr Colin Davie (Executive Councillor for Economic Development, Environment and Planning) as he set the scene for the day and spoke about the importance of Lincolnshire County Council’s ongoing investment in the visitor economy, along with team members and colleagues sharing updates on further trends and themes in the sector such as weddings, live events, military history, and the King Charles III England Coast Path in Lincolnshire.

If you’d like to see the key takeaways from the day, take a look at Visit Lincolnshire Tourism Year – Business Lincolnshire.  You’ll find useful statistics from VisitLincolnshire.com, key trends and growth areas – as well as links and information to contact our team and get involved in future activity.
