The Role of a Operations Centre Manager

The Operations Team connects the dots between guest services and maintenance. This is the team who will collate feedback from guests on any issues they might have and who will schedule checks and repairs with the maintenance teams. They will be at the forefront of any complaints and have to manage customer expectations – especially where repairs may not be immediate.
The Operations Centre usually comprises a team who will be overseen by an Operations Centre Manager (OCM).
Typical duties of the OCM will include:
- Supervise the day-to-day planning and scheduling of park work ensuring the appropriate work orders are raised and that work is scheduled in efficiently and expediently
- Supporting the administrators with customer complaints, helping to find solutions where delays may occur
- Ensure that all site contractors comply with worker legislation, have the correct credentials and follow all company procedures
- Ensuring all departments are kept up to date with the status of any works in progress
- Supporting the maintenance and grounds team with stock taking and stock management
Skills, Experience and Personality Needed
- Wide experience across a range of roles within the hospitality sector and specifically holiday parks
- Excellent people and communication skills, both written and verbally – you’ll be liaising with a broad range of individuals and often in high pressure situations
- The ability to lead and motivate a team
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-changing environment and demonstrate confidence in decision making – this role requires many decisions to be made in pressurised situations
- Excellent customer service skills
- Solid administration and IT skills and great attention to detail
- Ability to work to Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators and produce reports and graphics to demonstrate critical work issues and performance levels across the park
