Laundry staff carry out the movement, stock and delivery of linen for bedrooms, dining and meeting rooms, bed linen, towels, tablecloths and napkins. They liaise closely with the head of Housekeeping; the Restaurant Manager; the Executive or Sous Chef; Head of Events.

Their role includes:
  • Keeping the linen/ store cupboards clean and tidy, and locked when not in use
  • Ensuring there are sufficient supplies of laundry in the housekeeping cupboards
  • Counting and recording dirty/reject linen and flagging when replacement items are required
  • Complying with health and safety at work, manual handling practices and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations at all times
Skills, Experience and Personality Needed
  • Attention to detail – from a quality perspective, it’s vital for the laundry to be spotless and fresh
  • Ability to report into and work across a number of departments within the hotel
  • Energy and enthusiasm
