The park electrician is part of the maintenance team, but their primary role is
  • Connecting up new caravans to the site
  • (PAT) Portable Appliance Testing every 3 years for all the sites electrical appliances
  • Carry out general repairs across the site including within the guest accommodation
  • General repairs on sockets, hook ups, switches, exterior lights and distribution boxes 
  • Monitoring energy consumption and recommending methods to reduce waste and minimise energy costs
Skills, Experience and Personality Needed
  • Good customer service skills. Park electricians are likely to be liaising with guests if they are fixing minor problems and therefore become part of the guest’s experience
  • Qualification requirements differ from park to park, but most will require a Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification in Installation and Maintenance or Level 3 NVQ Diploma. These are generally the basic requirements, but some sites may also require a BS7671 qualification covering IET Wiring regulations and/or a Certificate on the Certification of Electrical Installations and/or the Certificate in Fundamental Inspection
