Congratulations are in order for VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2024 Unsung Hero Finalist Katie Calder from V-ATE Automotive Smokehouse and Bowl!
Katie was nominated after winning the category in the Destination Lincolnshire Tourism Awards in 2023, and will go on to represent Greater Lincolnshire is the national VisitEngland Awards event this Summer.
The VisitEngland Awards for Excellence champion the very best of the country’s tourism industry celebrating quality, innovation, best practice and exceptional customer service.
The finalists, announced following a rigorous judging process by handpicked tourism industry experts, will now go on to compete at the national awards. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony held at Rum Warehouse at The Titanic Hotel Liverpool on 5th June 2024.
This year’s awards aligned with 16 local competitions from across England including the 2024 Destination Lincolnshire Tourism Awards.
Katie Calder is the only winner of the local Lincolnshire awards to become a finalist in this year’s national awards ceremony, and will be hoping to take home the Unsung Hero title.
Last year, two Greater Lincolnshire businesses returned to the county with bronze awards at the VisitEngland ceremony. Healing Manor Hotel – Resilience and Innovation Award, and International Bomber Command Centre – Large Visitor Attraction Award.
And in 2020, International Bomber Command Centre won GOLD on the national stage – a first for the Lincolnshire – coming top in the International Tourism category.
